"First of all thank you so much for your support in sending 15 year old Michael Kinzler and 7 year old Dawson Schieffer to amateurs in Springfield, Illinois. Your sponsorship was used to get both riders into three different classes of racing.

There were over 200 riders from all over the nation participating at Springfield, Illinois. It was exciting to see what two hometown kids could do against some of the nation's best riders.

The track was shaped almost like a paperclip, with long front and back stretches and small embanked corners. Many of the riders had to adapt to this because you could not carry a lot of speed into the corner or it would shoot you off into the hay bales. You also needed to stay down low so no one would push you off the corners.

Micheal Kinzler had one of those days that nothing could go right. He was leading his heat race and another rider got underneath him and went high and Micheal ended up off the embankment. His bike would not hook up after that so thank goodness we brought a back up bike. Michael finished 9th in the 250 Open, 7th in the 401-505cc and did not make the program in the third man.

Dawson Schieffer had a pretty good weekend. Dawson who is known for his corner speed had to really back it off at this track. Dawson finished 3rd in the 75-125cc, 4th in the 50 Stock Chain class, and 5th in the 50 Stock Shaft class.

Again, we thank you for taking an interest in the youth of our community and sending these two riders to Springfield, Illinois."
